PIRANHAS TEAM UP WITH THE SPORTS ZONE IN GHENT
Virginia Beach, Virginia - The Hampton Roads Piranhas are pleased to announce their new partnership with The Sports Zone in Ghent as the official licensee for all Piranhas merchandize and products. The Sports Zone, located at 725 W. 21st Street, will carry team jerseys, sweatshirts, tee shirts, warm-ups, team scarves and Piranhasb novelty merchandise. The Sports Zone will also manage the Piranhasb online team store, have team merchandize for sale at all home games and have tickets available for all home games in its 21st Street store.
The Sports Zone is a Norfolk tradition and a second generation family owned and operated business, having first opened its doors in 1981 as Wards Corner Sporting Goods. In January, 1997 the name was officially changed to The Sports Zone. The owners, Brian and Dawn Bolling, are Norfolk natives and own one of the few existing full-service sports retailers in Hampton Roads.
The Sports Zone specializes in sporting equipment and uniforms for soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, football, field hockey, lacrosse and wrestling including apparel and equipment for officials. The store offers clothing and memorabilia for NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB and NCAA teams. From 1989 to 1996, The Sports Zone was the sole provider of apparel and souvenirs for the Norfolk Admirals.

In our store, we will have a Piranhasb wall and have meet and greets with the Piranhas players. Our hope is that this will bring Piranhasb soccer to the forefront in Norfolk."
The Piranhas kick off their 2010 home season on May 22 with a doubleheader at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The menbs PDL side will host the New Jersey Rangers at 5:30 p.m. followed by the womenbs W-League squad hosting the Charlotte Lady Eagles at 8 p.m.
