PDL Piranhas vs. Central Jersey followed by W-League vs. Northern Virginia
Virginia Beach, Virginia - The Hampton Roads Piranhas will host a Father’s Day Weekend doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex when the men’s side hosts the Central Jersey Spartans followed by the women’s team vs. the Northern Virginia Majestics at 8 p.m. Gates open at 4:30 p.m.
All Dads with or without their children in tow will get in for just $6 and will also be eligible to win numerous prizes. The grand prize Saturday night is the new R9 460 TaylorMade Driver with Flight Control Technology that allows players to customize face, lie and loft angles. Its value is $300 and includes a custom cover. This prize is courtesy of the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club. Other prizes include a free round of golf with your foursome at your favorite Hampton Roads Golf Clubs course including Lambertbs Point Golf Course, Owlbs Creek Golf Course, Stumpy Lake Golf Course, Lake Wright Golf Course, Honey Bee Golf Course, Chesapeake Golf Club and Cypress Point Country Club.
Even though it’s U.S. Open Weekend for all of our golf fans, (not to mention World Cup is going on as well), itbs been a busy week for each of the Piranhasb soccer teams, too! Saturdaybs game will mark the third match for each squad in seven days. The PDL team traveled to Greensboro on June 12 to face Carolina Dynamo and came away with their first win of the season 2-1. That match was followed by an exhibition with the Royal Marines on June 15 which the PDL side also won 2-0. The womenbs team traveled to Northern Virginia for a tough back to back road swing, meeting Northern Virginia on June 12 and the Washington Freedom on June 13. Both games were losses by the Red and White but the match with the Majestics on Saturday will constitute the season tiebreaker. The teams have split their two previous matches with each side winning at home by the same score of 1-0.
