The PDL Piranhas dropped a 3-0 decision to the Carolina Dynamo Saturday night at McPherson Stadium but the match played on the pitch was much closer than the final score.

The PDL and W-League Piranhas will take the field on Saturday, May 14 at the Sportsplex for their first doubleheader of the 2011 season at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.

The Hampton Roads Piranhas have announced the open try out dates for the 2011 season

The PDL Piranhas closed out their 2010 season Sunday night dropping a 91^th minute heartbreaker to the Northern Virginia Royals 2-1. 

The PDL Piranhas were back in Virginia Beach Friday night to face the Northern Virginia Royals at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in their 2010 home season finale, and ended their home campaign with an exciting last minute 2-2 draw.

Hampton Roads forward Tommy Schmitt’s 71^st minute goal made the difference in the match as the teams split their home and home series. West Virginia won at the Sportsplex 2-0 on June 27.

The PDL Piranhas and the Carolina Dynamo met for the third time this season Wednesday night in the rubber match of their 2010 three-game series, fighting to a nil-nil draw at the Sportsplex.

Piranhas’ keeper Ryan Zmuda played the game of the year in goal for the PDL Piranhas Saturday night and earned a hard-fought 1-0 shutout against the Eastern Conference-leading Ironbound Express.

Greensboro, North Carolina – The PDL Piranhas traveled to MacPherson Stadium to face the Carolina Dynamo Saturday night and came away with their first win of the 2010 season, beating Carolina 2-1. The two teams met on May 30 at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex with Carolina coming out on top 4-1.

Virginia Beach, Virginia – The PDL Piranhas are gearing up for THE REMATCH!!!!! On Tuesday night, June 15 at 7 p.m. the Red and White will face the Royal Marine Football Association in a rematch of the most anticipated game of World Cup 2010, USA vs. England.

Ewing, New Jersey – The PDL Piranhas played the second half of their two-game New Jersey road trip Friday night, meeting the Central Jersey Spartans at Lion Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

The PDL Piranhas (0-3-3) drove up I-95 this morning to meet the Ironbound Express (New Jersey) tonight at Holmdel High School and came away with a hard-fought 2-2 draw. Ironbound (4-0-1) had not allowed a goal this season.

It was stormy on and off the field Sunday night at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex. The PDL match between the Piranhas and Carolina Dynamo was scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. but thunderstorms in the area delayed the start by 90 minutes.

Ocean City, New Jersey – Trailing 2-0, the PDL Piranhas (0-1-1) picked up the first point of their young 2010 season by scoring two huge goals against Ocean City (0-0-1) in the final four minutes of regulation Saturday night to tie the Nor’Easters 2-2 at Carey Stadium.
